This is my entry for the latest creative challenge at Mojo Monday. Another card, another week and another new ribbon to play with. Last week it was mesh ribbon. This week it's the embellishment which appears to be doing the rounds amongst crafters, especially those in the USA. It's Rayon Seam Binding.
Given that it isn't easy to come by in the UK, I bought 100 yards of it from Amazon.com. Should take me a while to get through it. There's a video on youtube showing how to crinkle and colour it. I think I rushed my first attempt so it's not as perfect as it could be but it's still usable.
And, bearing in mind what I said last week, I've made a concerted effort to include stamping in this week's card. The background is stamped with a variety of swirl flourishes, the main image is a stamped chandelier and even the tiny tag is stamped with the sentiment, a bird and flowers.
ooo this is nice Paul. I know where to come should I need any seam binding.lol
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely classy card, Paul, with such great detail style and flair from you, but that's you!
ReplyDeleteThe seam binding is fab and also makes lovely tattered roses if you trim off the selvedge from one side. You can also make shaded ribbon if you wrap it roughly round a tube, spray with water then let two or three colours bleed into the wet ribbon.
