Ring in the New

It's a new year. A new decade even. However, it's bloomin freezing outside so I'm staying in my warm and cosy craft room. Okay I did venture out a little today to see first my Mum & then my Dad and wish them a happy new year too. After that, my time was my own.

So it was an ideal day to sit and watch the first video on Cathy's DYL course. I even had plenty of time to knock out the first assignment. Two layouts which balance through symmetry. And you know what I've discovered already? I like my LOs to be flat. Now that I use my lumpier embellishments in all my other types of crafting, especially card making, I feel free to keep my designs paper-thin.

Mainly because I'm liking the uncluttered look. Also, it forces the creative brain cells to put in some time. But it has the sneaky advantage of being easier to scan in too. That's just a hidden extra but along with being A4 makes online life so much easier.

My New Year's resolution to use more patterned paper than I buy this year is looking good so far. Used: 4, bought: 0. Not sure this excellent start will last long though lol.

Love your play on words Paul. Great pages and I love this look that you are achieving.
Wonder how long this resolution will last? No trips to Manchester then?

Fab LOs, Paul - love the way you have the echoed the stripes on Adam's T shirt in your design.
