More cards, more angelina and more flowers

Just been playing around making cards out of my stash for the sheer fun of it. Whilst playing around with angelina fibres last week, I made three square embellishments using an Amaco stamp set (designed for making clay jewellery and works rather well with the fibres). With the resulting tiles having a multi coloured metallic sheen, I decided to set them against a red-violet background. Purples are always my go-to colour to match against warm metallics.

The second card was inspired by a technique I spotted on Betty The Bag Lady's Blog. She's been making beautiful, curvaceous flowers out of heart shaped punches. I don't have a punch but I do have Spellbinders nesties dies and used those instead. I've gone for earthier colours this time, combined with embellishments such as wooden buttons, twine, string and bronze bookplates. The hummingbird stamp is from Inkadinkadoo (mindscapes set) and the sentiment is Papertrey Ink. It's not as stunningly 3D as Betty's and a little grungier, so I heartily recommend you see her blogged examples for inspiration.

Love that twine - I love using it, too :) The Angelina looks fantastic, Paul - what a great idea and it looks so good against that gorgeous coloured background. Maybe there IS a use for the fibre I have hanging around here after all, lol.

Love that top card in particular, Paul: especially those earthy natural touches. The tied string is perfect! xx alexa

The card is simple but detailed and the Angelina tiles are fab... I have never made anything "crisp" with it but will do now. Another thing to try out! Thanks Paul......
