Playing Around with Different Materials

I decided to try and incorporate some of the different craft materials I've collected I've the years into some card projects.

For instance, over at Papertrey Ink, the designers have been playing around with felt cut from dies. I've never tried this before. In all honesty, I mainly die cut paper. So I thought I'd give it a go. Not only that, I cut through some fabric swatches too and created a batch of flower embellishments.

I also used a strange kind of translucent blue plastic sheet for the vase. I trimmed it with scissors and stamped a Hero Arts flourish onto it with Staz On ink. I add the bling buckle because again I have collected these things and never used them.

The 'Mask' card was made using Angelina fibres. Something else I have a lot of but haven't used in a while. I coloured in the flourishes with Sakura Glaze pens, cut out the eyes, backed it onto white card and added white glitter. All stuff I rarely use and just sits in the corners of my craft room.

Although my Mojo isn't flagging, I have to say it felt creatively refreshed to have been using different materials in my crafts just for the sheer fun of it.

3 very different, but equally beautiful cards! You're so good at trying new ideas and techniques - I've had some of the Angelina fibres for years and still wouldn't know what to do with them LOL! x

Ooh I love that mask - my sort of thing - must have a play with you when things settle down.
