A Challenge Which Speaks to my Simple Nature

Yes, over at the Play Date Cafe (for which I am once again truly grateful for being noted as one of their cream in the coffee selections), this week's colour combo appealed to the minimalist in me once again.

Black, white and orange. If you read my previous post, you'll know I'm playing around with stuff that's been in my collection, unused for an eon and dusting it off and what popped into my head, the moment I saw the challenge, was this swirly, black, felt, border design.

I'd already had this piece cropped down, when I had a previous, obviously rejected, idea. And I'm glad I didn't throw it away because now I had an opportunity to use it. I placed it down on my card to see how it looked and I instantly said to myself, it needs nothing else! Well, okay, in order to complete the challenge it did. It needed orange (a dewdrop embellishment) and it didn't hurt to add a sentiment stamp from a Butterfly Kisses set.

It may not be award winning. It's only three items on a piece of card and it took all of five minutes to put together. But, as with my aesthetics on art, when I see something dramatic and minimalist, I get goosebumps. It's the dramatist in me :D
