Driven to Abstraction

I'm playing with a new challenge today from the Lots To Do blog. It's a site that many of my stamping, friends visit and I keep meaning to join in but until now haven't quite put aside the time.

However, the latest challenge is up and the theme is Shapes. I hadn't a clue what I was going to make and decided to let serendipity take over. I looked in my box of chipboard shapes and found a set of swirls and shapes by Bo Bunny which I bought many moons ago. Most of the shapes had been used and there were a few stragglers left.

So I decided to challenge myself to put together a pleasing, balanced, abstract design which used up all of the pieces I had left. Not as easy as it sounds. It took a fair amount of time which I spent shuffling shapes around until I felt it all gelled and nothing jarred. But finally I did it. Several times I thought of cheating and leaving a piece out when I couldn't make it fit somewhere but in the end, I used every chipboard shape at my disposal.

I ummed and ahhed whether to include a sentiment then decided it could be left as it is. Who knows, as an abstract piece, it could be framed and hung on someones wall?

Love it Paul - your sense of colour (ok this is mono) is second to none and you have the knack of gettling the balance just right in all that you do.
