I was hunting through my folder of photos to see if I could find an appropriate picture depicting the subject I wanted to scrap about, my facial cyst, and I could only find two. This one was the best but still, when I look at it, at the tiny lump on my face, I'm sure it was much bigger than that. Maybe it's my imagination.
It did, ever so briefly, become bigger when it became infected and turned into a nasty boil but it shrunk back down into a cyst again. I felt extremely paranoid about it and it was making me miserable. Drama I know. Eventually I had it surgically removed. It's left me with a little dimple in my cheek when I smile.
If it returned now, I'm pretty sure I'd let it be. I'd certainly be surprised if people noticed it or even cared if they did. That's the angst of being a teen. It's a wonderful revelation as you grow into an adult and discover people are more consumed by their own fears and insecurities to have the time or energy to notice yours. I've seen moles, pimples and spots on others and it barely registers. So why oh why did I think it did back then. Anyhow, it left me with a cute dimple which is far more irritating haha.

never even noticed it Paul. Funny how the things that bother us are rarely seen by others.
Gosh, Paul, you were cute even then, lol. Love the photo but oh how right you are! You can't really see it. I love your dimple anyway but I bet the cyst wouldn't have made any difference to the real you :)
You'll be undergoing an examination next Vicky Stampers for sure. I'll bring my stethoscope! Never noticed any imperfections before in one so "purrfect" but now we'll all be looking!

What you say is so true - I'm forever hearing moans of "I can't possibly go out with this huge spot on my face" from my teenagers, when in reality you need a magnifying glass to see it! Think you should be more worried about the spiky hairdo LOL! Fab LO and clever play on words with the title. x
Love Michelle's comment re your spiky hairdo. I think even if you had a cyst on the end of your nose nobody would see it - they see the inner you - and love you for the person you are.
Very true Paul, you can hardly see it! So true about our hangups!
Youth is wasted on the young! LOL!

Love your title - very neat! And a classic Paul page with lots of journalling and a great story and design. I'm glad you're not so bothered any more!
Cute dimples are great!Love BettyXXX
You are so profound! I am giggling and smiling from ear to ear reading your post - how honest! I totally agree with you, however. I had awful skin when I was young - it's only marginally better now! We do waste a lot of energy worrying about it.
Your "zoom" spot to show it is hilarious! Must admit - you are still a handsome guy!
