Guess Where I've Popped Up Again

Yes, it's my second appearance on the Play Date Cafe Challenge Blog as I have been asked (and indeed I jumped at the chance) to be guest designer twice for the month of August.

This week, Julie has chosen a very cool, refreshing, palette to compliment this sizzling, summery season. A pale and a dark green plus a vibrant pale blue. Admittedly, when I began to pool these colours together to make a card, I had difficulty. I disliked every which way I was combining my stash. It was late at night, I was a little heavy lidded and probably in an overly self-critical mood.

The following morning, I was feeling much more refreshed and began again. Fortunately I hadn't adhered anything together yet and with a few chops and changes, came at it with a different approach. Once finished, I spent the rest of the morning tidying up the debris I was left with. It may look deceptively simple, but this tiny, little card managed to cause what looked like a major stash explosion in my craft room. And I can't create in a mess. I can easily make it but I need to clear it up before I start again.

Anyway, the main point is, I may have found it frustrating, mainly through tiredness, but it was still great fun to make. And I'm grateful to the PDCC team for asking me to be a part of their blog this week. I'm now looking forward to seeing everyone else's projects and interpretations.

Brilliant design, Paul. Love the background and the way the flower has the shades of green on it. Is that one of your toilet paper/tissue backgrounds? Looks very like that template we used at Stamp Club. Thanks for the inspiration. Hope I get chance to play this week.

You remind me of my process...I start with my base colors, work on some ideas, walk away until the next day and change EVERYTHING I had spent 2 hours on the night before!

Great fun having you design with us Paul..we have really enjoyed having a boy on our team and would love to do it again soon : ) xx

I love this Paul. The pearls and stitching look fabulous! Think we should incorporate a macaroon on something soon? Ha ha :-). X

I love the clean lines on this one. I think my fav part, though, is the stitching alternating with pearls (or brads?).
Love the "stash explosion" line... Haven't we all had that from time to time!? I'm with you that it needs to get tidied before moving on. ;)
