Happy Days Are Here Again

Not that they ever went away. After a brief blip on the crafting front due to lack of sleep, I was leaping off the walls with all the extra bounce & vigour that a few good nights' sleep gave me (& let's just forget last night ever happened with the smoke alarm battery and drunken partner which undid all that beautiful somnambulism)

Over at the Play Date Cafe, they gave us a fruity, zesty combo of orange and green together with the silvery elegance of grey. A perky, uplifting selection which was fun to join in with.

After trimming out a patterned grey mat layer from K&Co stash, I punched out the corners and hand-stitched around the edges. I chomped out six butterfly shapes with a MS punch and glued them in pairs slightly askew, just for whimsy. I stamped the sentiment and frame with a Banana Frog set and threw in some ribbon for the orange accent. Pearls and jewels finished off the card, all because I fancied adding bling.

Finally, I'm seeing sun outside of my craft room window. So I'm going to take full advantage of it and drag myself outdoors for some fresh air and vitamin D.

You forgot to mention that nice stitching! Love the freshness, presaging Spring - did you get your fresh air and vitamin D? Sounds as if your partner might need it more than you!

Lovely card Paul. I really like how you've done the little cut out corners. Great minds think alike, I've just done something very similar with a lacy border I've done. I prefer yours though lol. Thanks for playing along with us at the Play Date Cafe!

Way awesome card, Paul, love the blinged out butterflies, askew, no less :) Great hand-stitching too, I like the effect of it not quite reaching the corners.
Your commentary is so interesting too, I really enjoy your take on the challenge and life in general (and it broadens my vocabulary...somnambulism?--gotta love it!)
