Found Some Time to Play

It's been a busy ol' week, post holiday. But I've managed to squeeze an hour to myself to play with paper. And where better to play than with the Play Date Cafe.

I've been a bit remiss and not played along for a couple of weeks. So I thought I'd better head on over there and see what colours are on offer this week. Well it looks like a split complementary scheme which always delivers a punchy combination. Dark blue with its split complimentary of red (the pink) & orange.

I spent most of the time making the paper flowers and leaves for this card before placing them on a simple background with shaped punched corners, leaving lots of white space. I've left the sentiment out as it can be stamped on later or left out, depending on who it will be sent to and for what occasion.

Right, I'd better head off and plough through my 'to do' list (yes I'm a big list maker - I even make lists of lists). But it's not all work, I'm off to dinner at a new restaurant with friends tonight and at some point I need to think about my New52. Actually, thinking about it, the two could be combined! Wahay! That's settled that. I can put a line through that one. So what's next on my list.....?

I like the blue flower... and I LOVE the smaller orange flowers! Very pretty!

You know what? I love reading your interpretation of the colors always. More so because I don't really know much about them other than what, according to me, 'looks good' and what 'doesn't'. The 'technical' terms you describe them by sometimes zaps me but mostly creates interest :) Thank you!

So pretty - and the white space really does make you focus on the rest. That blue is wonderfully vibrant. Looking forward to your tale of the evening out!

Don't talk about 'to-do' lists - for everything I take off, 2 more get added!

Wonderful card, very elegant as usual. I'm with Smita, as somebody who never did anything arty before, it's interesting to find out how the colour schemes work :)

I'm glad I'm not the only list maker Paul, it definitely gets the job done! Great card, I love all the white space you've created in contrast to the colour. I'm with Smita, love what you write about the colours :) Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Play Date Cafe!

I wondered where you'd been! :) I'm a list-maker too, if I didn't, I'd never make it through life. Your card this week is gorgeous - loving that blue flower the most. Good to have you back in the Cafe.
