Becoming Deconstructed

Ah, when I see the word 'decontructed', it takes me back to the days when I used to read philosophy. My old grey cells cannot recall very much but I do associate the thoughts of Jaques Derrida with the term deconstructionism. The lofty idea was about taking apart all the meanings and associations we bring to words, in order to understand them more precisely (to anyone reading this who studied Derrida, I know, I know, this is a very simplistic interpretation :) ).

Anyhoo, rambling thoughts aside, I came across this word because I discovered another challenge blog, The Deconstructed Sketch (thanks Andrea). I rather liked it's quirkiness too. You don't often see a triangular element slap bang in the centre of a card design. I haven't a clue whose papers I've used etc. All my papers are in a jumble in my storage box. I just picked out the ones I liked, which I figured would go well together. And as for the flowers, you can slap my wrist as there's a bought one on here. The main cream flower is from Prima. The small, felt, rolled rose, however, is handmade by my own fair hands lol. I think my mojo is gradually returning :)

From what I have seen of your work your Mojo has never left you. Paul you do some fantastic work and I love reading your blog but tonight you reminded me of college and my worse subject ever. Still, it was you and the picture of your work soon took my mind off somewhere else.
Hugs, Neet x

Paul, Your card is gorgeous. Love your take on the "deconstruction". First card I've seen with a triangle dead center, but you are right, it works! I think it is ok to use premade flowers/embellishments - you made this your own and the flower was just an accent. All the accents work wonderfully together.

I'm so happy to introduce to you new ways to show off your fabulous creations :)
You've made a wonderful collage of elements...those antiqued corners, both the hand-made and 'pre-made' flowers are gorgeous and you have such an eye for color! To be able to pick papers out of a pile and arrange them together beautifully is certainly a gift! I usually leave that taks to the paper company ;)
