Just in the Nick of Time

The sketch I used for this card was from a challenge set last Thursday on the Deconstructed blog & the deadline is only a few hours away. Fortunately I can still just scrape my entry in at the last minute.

The reason for my tardiness is my old foe, the back problem. I couldn't move over the weekend and missed out on some wonderful outings which had been planned for months in advance. One-off, never to be repeated events. However, mustn't grumble, there are people with far worse problems than me in the world. And the good news is that I seem to be on the mend. However, it's only been in the last 24 hours that I've been able to sit in my craft room. My stash has been in serious danger of gathering a thin layer of dust.

So glad to be back to sticking stuff on stuff!

As for the card itself, well there's nothing majorly new going on there. All the usual suspects can be found. Lace, pearls, patterned paper, filigree corners (however this time around, it's been coated with light blue acrylic paint). The flower is made from mulberry paper & is probably the quickest embellishment in the history of card making. I was going to add an accent colour but somehow I became sidetracked when piecing the project together and it was forgotten. It'll have to be included next time now.

Right, I'm off to heat up my purple bean bag sausage pillow thing in the microwave. It fits perfectly in the crook of my lower back and offers a relief that unfortunately not even chocolate can give lol. Px

Hi Paul,

Sorry to hear of your woes, magnified tenfold by the whole chocolate can't fix it thing...you do know that chocolate is in a food group all on it's own and holds miraculous healing properties?

Anyway to your lovely creation, I really like the blue as an accent colour, not sure that it actually needs anything else added, besides it's difficult to improve on prefection!

Cheers,

Lovely, Paul - I love these colours and so wanted to take part this week but work won't let me :-(

Sorry to hear about your back. Take it easy, whatever you do and don't strain it too much. Heat and rest sound like the best idea but a little choccie wouldn't go amiss! Take care x

Ah, so sorry to hear of your back issues, they can certainly make you uncomfortable at best and debilitated at worst....I'm hoping you have a quick recovery...
So now that you've posted this beauty, there's a new sketch to be had at Deconstructed...as if you didn't have enough to do already!
Your card here is a vintage dream...your muted palettes and combination of lace and flowers is just divine! Love the vintage brackets, too...the hardware is such a lovely touch to bring just a wee bit of contrast. Just superb!

I know where you are coming from with that back pain. Nothing worse but next time I see you I will give you the name of a fab osteopath in Gatley (expensive but good) just in case you suffer again.
Everything about your card is "pleasure" - pure pleasure! Love that flower especially.
Hugs, Neet xx
