Up Late & Feeling Shabby

I've been in a shabby mood of late and wanting to make something, anything just for the sake of it.

The first card uses an old sketch from Mojo Monday back from October 2010. I'd already handmade the flower using a die cut shape of a leaf and wanted a design which could incorporate it. The hand stitching seemed like a good idea at the time but took about an hour to accomplish (I am only too painfully aware that some of you crafters out there could sew it in a matter of minutes lol). I did however, play with acrylic paints for the first time in a long while and boy did it feel good. The blue, the purple and the white that you see, are all painted.

The second card, "Always", is a CASEd design but I cannot track down the original's blog whereabouts. So if you have seen a similar design elsewhere on the web, that's why (& I'd love to have the link). I loved the colours in the original and wanted to play around with the combination of light grey, white and cream.

Right now, I'm in the middle of decorating a binder. I've dug out the paints again but I'm umming and ahhing where to go with it next. Hopefully by tonight, when I'll next have the time to go into my craft room, the muse will have struck.

I trust everyone has had a fun halloween and if anyone feels they have too much chocolate in the house, let me know and I'll gladly take it off your hands lol. Pxx

Like both of these Paul. Very ephemeral and muted colours. Lovley.

So very delicate ... Shabby chic is something you do so well (among other things!). Sorry, it was a chocolate-free house here!

Paul, your cards have a certain quality about them and I love the way you photograph them and portray them in your blog.
These are totally stunning, as is all of your work. Please keep with the shabby chic for a long time to come. You are the master!
