Telling Objects: Day 29

DON'T PANIC! No animal was hurt in the acquisition of today's object. You should know better than that by now. Yup! It's another found object. And no, not on the head of Bambi...

Well, thinking about it, more like Bambi's dad. This was found on the grounds of a park where deer roam free and yes we asked permission to keep it. So now it hangs from a picture rail in the guest room / office. Well a whole deer's head on a plaque is repulsive and offensive but an impressive antler which has been shed, is rather a magnificent piece of wall decoration. No one can hold a candle to Mother Nature when it comes to aesthetics.

Until tomorrow

Hi there. Kinda jealous about this! It's one of those things I would love to have! I've dreamed of finding one for YEARS now!
It looks great.

My grandparents had one (deer head and antlers) above the top of the stairs as you came up carrying the candle, the flame of which threw huge shadows onto the wall. Scary. I've had to take a few deep breaths here :). Your home is a wonderfully quirky place to be!

Just as Neil says, I'm also kinda jealous. Many deer visit our garden and we can even hand feed some of them and one guy in particular likes to be groomed but they have never left us a gift! I live in hope.

How lucky you were to find this and how lucky to be allowed to keep it.
Thanks for the sharing.
Hugs, Neet xx
