I've been a little quiet on here for the last few days but rest assured, I've been subjecting myself to the horror of yucky, inky fingers. It's all for a good purpose mind. I have actually been planning ahead to a workshop I'm giving in April for a local craft group.
I know that I'm going to be busy in March, so I wanted to make sure I had my samples and plans ready before February comes to an end.
It's a class on art journaling which will be a new one for me to preside over. I offered it up as a suggestion and when I changed my mind, I was met with cries of disbelief and requests I stick to showing how to create arty pages. So I happily caved in.
The thing is with art journals, is that there is a wide scope and in some respects, impossible to teach. Ideally, I'd just put papers, paints and inks in front of everyone and instruct them to go wild and crazy and just cover the pages any which way they want. Art journals have no instructions, no right ways, no wrong directions. You simply can not do it wrong.
However, I think it would be easier if I helped guide the class with some ideas to start the creative juices flowing. So with that in mind, I've come up with three different pages, showing a variety of techniques to be cherry-picked from.
The above photo is just a sneaky peak. I'll post them in full, once the workshop has been given. It should be a fun day and hopefully everyone else will come away with messy hands, except me. I'll be the one chucking away the marigolds, as we pack away and smiling, admiring my pristine nails.
Until Next Time
