Inspired Patterns - Day Thirty One - The Last One!!!

Yes today is the last day of the challenge. For lots of people, this is also Stoptober. 31 days to give up something. Mostly it's smoking. I know a few people have used the idea to stop other bad habits too. I gave up smoking many years ago now and well I have so few bad habits, I'm clinging on to the ones remaining.

So what I did instead was join The Nesting Place's 31 Days 2013 challenge. And you'll find me as link number 124.

It's been fun, definitely. Challenging, certainly. There's been ups for sure. And downs, inevitably. I've learnt to persevere. To be determined to find the time. To tackle my inner perfectionist. To button my lip when all I want to do is moan and whinge and complain. And I've had to listen to and do my best to ignore, that inner critic. I know it only too well. It's presence doesn't surprise me one jot these days. But I'm still taken aback by how harsh it is.

And by the end of this post, I'll have been inspired to create thirty one patterns.

So let's not delay any longer. Today is Halloween. Means nothing to me. I'm sure it's fun if you live in America. But it's not really caught on the same in the UK. We try but we don't have their flair for it. I'll join in with the spirit though...

This Tim Burton style pumpkin head caught my eye and I roughly drew something similar...

Which looks heaps better once it's coloured in...

Thank you for following along this month. And a big thank you to all who have left kind comments too. Thanks, as always, for dropping by. Normal service shall resume shortly and good ol' paper crafting will commence soon.

And so much more impact having a whole host of these grinning heads! You have really met the challenge with determination and flair and I think it’s time you took charge and sent the Inner Critic on a long overdue holiday :).

I am so proud of your commitment and follow-through on this project, Paul! As a crafter and blogger, I can honestly tell you there are days when I could...but don't venture up those stairs to my art "loft." Neither do I have the energy nor desire, neither the motivation nor the inspiration. But, even during Nick's hospitalization and subsequent recovery, you managed your time and "scheduled" your posts to honor that commitment Three cheers for you! Well done!

Yes, coming from America, Halloween is BIG, even for adults...and, as of last night, even for dogs. Russ and I and Super Dog Jake were invited to a "Yappy Hour" at a local (and very pricy) hotel in downtown Boton. The Yappy Hour is held outside in an enclosed courtyard. Full bar, lighted plastic furniture. Dog are all off leash and free to run around. Last night, the dogs were in full Halloween costume, as were many of the owners! Jake had a Halloween-themed bandana around his neck--no costume. Prizes were given! That's how very serious we are about this holiday!

But, now, to your fun creation today. Love the pumpkin face and love it in multiples. You see, we just can't get enough!

Thank you so much for sharing your designs with us. It's been fun watching you turn your inspiration photos into such nice designs. I hope to use many of them to create my own cards.

What a fantastic way to finish the challenge! I'm not crazy about Halloween either (I'm a complete scaredy-cat - no horror films for me) but I can live quite happily with pumpkin lanterns, and your paper is fab. Well done for all the time you put into this challenge, even when Nick was in hospital. Inspirational stuff. Wishing you both well, and a bit of a breather, before the scrapping begins again.
