That's Torn It

It's Play Date Cafe Challenge Time!!!! Beautiful, soft pastel hues of blue, green and off white. Not my usual taste as I prefer my colours richer but I have to say, I love them. I'm now tempted to try a softer palette again. Especially these three colours.

I began by stamping Hero Arts 'Printed Flower' set and cutting them out. I folded and crumpled them and attached together with a faux-pearl brad. I took out some My Mind's Eye '29th Street Market' paper in green and blue and cut some matting layers which I tore at the edges before inking to give that shabby effect. I then hand sewed around the blue mat.

I created the border with a Martha Stewart punch before crumpling it and made the sentiment with a Hero Arts Birthday stamp and a nesties die. The flower stem is also Hero Arts from their 'Scattered Leaves' set.

I can now add it to my ever-growing pile of cards. My craft room is being taken over! I think it's time I started looking at doing some scrapbook layouts soon as I'm falling behind with way too many stories yet to capture. Who knows, maybe the next challenge?

Paul this is lovely.I've noted you've not used the sewing machine but hand sewed instead-it really does complement that shabby chic look.I do love it. Have you seen the video on Shaz's (ramblings of a fairy )blog where she shows how she makes those lovely shabby roses. It is genius and so natural (the video and the rose)Hugs Betty
