A Tricky Combination

This week's colour combo over at the Play Date Cafe was a little tricky. It definitely and literally was a challenge this week lol. The colours just didn't quite gel together at first. However, with a bit of tinkering here and there, pulling out different papers and embellishments and having to unglue and reglue (how I managed not to rip or tear anything, was just pure luck), I think I managed to pull something together which I'm about 70% happy with. Maybe it's one of those "growers" as in, if I put it in a box, out of sight for a month or two and then happen to come across it, I'll say to myself that hey it's actually not that bad.

And as a little side note, thank you to everyone who left a comment for my entry in last week's PDCC challenge. I think it's the most I've received for a single post. I'm very flattered that you all seemed to like it. I just love seeing who is behind each comment, if it's the first time someone's left one and seeing the wonderful blogs they've produced. I happily spend hours and hours pouring over all the beautiful cards, crafts and art that is put out there for fellow bloggers to enjoy. It's incredbly addictive but thankfully it's not illegal, immoral or fattening lol.

Aye Paul but you don't half seem to get through a lot of the ole time doing it!By the way that card is lovely and the colour combination does work well. I sweat blood over cards and then wonder why I bother when I see other people's creations. When hopping from blog to blog it's strange how the same techniques bob up at the same time too and before we've had chance to see each other's cards. Keep gluing and stitching Hugs BettyXXX

Just went over to PDC to check the colours - see what you mean - but you have done your usual and come up trumps. Love your card Paul.

I love this card, Paul - You've balanced the colours beautifully! By using the diagonal cut card you've managed to frame the flower, on both the silver and clay background, perfectly. x

Great job with this week's challenge, Paul! I totally "get" what you said - I could have written the same thing myself! Your creation is simply wonderful! Thanks for playing (and being such a loyal participant) with the PDCC!!

I can see what you mean - it's different, and it's already growing on me! I love that the flower is off the page - and the color combination (while "out there") is really quite pleasing! I think you've nailed it!

I wasn't sure if my color story this week would make you CrAzY or not, Paul : ) I can tell you that choosing the color inspiration was a no-brainer....creating something for my own piece, another story! haha

This is fabulous and I really love how it came together for you

Lovely use of the colors! I think we all struggled on this one a bit! My desk was a bit of a mess when I was done. Beautiful card. Thanks for playing along again in the PDCC!
