Thought I'd find some time to take this week's Colour Q challenge as I've been a bit remiss lately. This time, they offered up two neutrals, two earth tones and the addition of white. The cushion they took the influence from had a trendy look to it but I wasn't sure how it would translate into a card.
I began by taking the only two colour tones and using them to decorate a stamped butterfly image from Caroline's Rubber Stamps, which I'd purchased at Port Sunny, the other day. I used Sakura's pens which lent the butterfly a bit of sparkle and glam. I embellished with some black acrylic jewels and used white wire to make the antennae.
The backing was decorated around the edges and corners with a Martha Stewart border punch. The central flower image is a Spellbinders Blossom die which I embossed with a swirl pattern.
Simple, bold, dramatic and oh how very unusual for me lol.

Wow, what a card! I love the two toned butterfly and the fancy backing. So gorgeous.
Simple is good! Your card looks awesome. The stripes on your butterfly reflect the stripes on the cushion and the added sparkle adds just the right touch.
Fab card, Paul. I love the contrast of the colourful butterfly against the neutral tones of the background x
This is SO striking, Paul! I love how you did the border with the corners a different color and your butterfly is stunning!!
Beautiful card!
