...and this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge certainly has an acquired one. Sarah Anderson has purposefully been looking at colours which clash and has set the interesting task of using such a dastardly scheme. Hot pink, mustard yellow and navy blue. Not a scheme I would ever use, say, to decorate my home.
Well. I tried it. Then I tried it again. However, in the end, the only way I could make something with them was to go back to my place of comfort and add white. Not just add, but make the main colour whilst reducing the space designated for the others. It's a cop out I know but I have a table full of attempts and they all look, shall we say, less than satisfactory. However I'm glad I was able to conjure up something, finally. One of these week's there is going to a scheme that completely throws me. This one nearly did but all I can say to the PDC is...Bring it on haha!!!

You've managed to make the colours work really well together. Having the white background makes the colours pop, resulting in a classy looking card. x
This is wonderful, Paul! The neutral background is perfect here.. Thanks for playing with the Play Date Cafe!
Great job Paul, I always admire your clean cut cards! Love your use of the word dastardly, I haven't heard that in a while, it really made me smile! Thanks for playing along with us at the PDCC this week!
I think you really made the color scheme work beautifully. Lovely card! Glad you beat the clash this week and joined us at the PDCC!
This totally works for me. I just wish I'd thought to add all that wonderful white to my card! But could you show us the ones you think are failures? Because we might think they're great!
Brilliant idea for the "dastardly" (your words) colours. Looks great!
I really like this card Paul, you have done a brill job
It's gorgeous Paul and the white background works fabulously.
Have a good time next week and eat a macaroon for me! X
Love the card...white definitely balances and I love the big and small heart!!! I just finished my card to post tomorrow....:)
Enjoyed your story behind this weeks colors. You certainly can't tell here that you had issues. Wonderful CAS design. Thanks for playing at the PDCC.
You are HILARIOUS! I'm glad this unlikely color combo didn't get the better of you {although, I quaked in my boots a lil' bit!}... YOU clearly had the upper hand ~ and this card features these colors BRILLIANTLY! Thanks for sharing your JOURNEY {hee!} with the PDCC!
Wow love your creation with these colours.. Simply marvelous, cant really say that they clash:-)
Such a funny story! I FELT your pain! LOVED the end result with the two hearts!
These colours have really made this week's play date the biggest challenge yet I think! :) But you rose to it, very neatly I have to say. Now back to my den to come up with another evil, dastardly plan hee hee hee hee
You always make me smile, Paul...I love your humor and patience as we challenge with some pretty odd stuff!
Lovely CAS...really do like it! x
Nice and simple!
