I've spent very little time recently on crafting. However, this weekend, we have guests staying and whilst they've all been sleeping off hangovers in the mornings, I've crept quietly into my craft room to cut up paper and apply ink to stamps. And lo & behold, I've managed to create cards for not one, not even two but wait for it, yes, three colour challenges.
The first, will be of no surprise, for The Play Date Cafe. I could say that this week we didn't have any colours to play with lol. Grey, silver & brown. An elegant selection of neutrals. Yes, there is brown in my card. It's not instantly noticeable but it is there in the ink I used to stamp the sentiment.
The second is a card I created for the Colour Q challenge. Warm cocoa browns paired with hot red & yellow. Perfect combination to play with on a cold, wintry day. However, the photo doesn't show the browns off too well, they look more of a grey.
Finally, the third card is for the Colour Throwdown site. A split complimentary scheme with raspberry, olive and saffron. I recently bought myself a new tool, the Sew Easy from We R Memory Keepers. I haven't quite worked out how to use it perfectly yet though. However, I had a go with the starburst pattern for this card. When I have a little more time, I'll sit down and play around with the different patterns and hopefully use it in future projects.
It's been a beautiful weekend so far, with bright winter sun glistening off frost covered ground. We've been lapping up the enchanting scenery in the hills of the Peak District. And there's been that nostalgic, haunting sound of stones skimming on ice. We're heading to a farmers market this morning and then another walk to exercise a little of last night's excesses off. So I'd better post now before I hear the yell from downstairs telling me we're going.

Beautiful cards, Paul! I especially like the second one though.
Hope you've had a great day!
Hugs,

Paul I love your elegant style!
The play date one is my favourite, that white flourishy image is just fab! I must be in a bit of a neutrals mood at the minute, each photo I choose for the next challenges seems to feature them strongly - but I'm fighting it, bright colours will be back!!!
ps beautiful day for a walk, if a little chilly!
Lovely cards, Paul! thanks for playing the colourQ challenge this week!
It's amazing what goes on whilst people sleep! Sneaky you! It was well worthwhile and produced some classy stuff.
It was total whiteout as I landed this pm in Hamburg... looked lovely with the sun setting. Not so nice at ground level as there wasn't much coverage of snow and it is B****dy freezing here. Got me thermals !

Love those cards. Great design.
Hi Paul,
This is my first time visiting your website. I found your thumbnail photo (for which you won an honor!) over at ColourQ. Congrats! Love these cards on this post. When I get more time, I'll have to peruse your site a bit more! By the way, are you friends with Andrea Ewen of Ewen Style? I think she might've mentioned you when she and I recently got together and met officially for the first time.
Cheers!
Colleen
