Paper Jewellery

Something a bit different for this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge. Rather than a card, I decided to make a Herme's Paper bracelet. It's a template design you can download from the French designer's website, based on their rather expensive Collier de Chien wrist accessory.

If you fancy downloading the design (and there are several to choose from) it's not an easy link to find, however if you go here and click on Travel The World Of Hermes. Once the flash movie has finished, go over to the orange bar in the top left hand side and click on Surprises. I found the link thanks to this lovely blog, How About Orange.

I downloaded the blanc design and on my first attempt I printed the template onto card and then backed it with patterned paper. This turned out to be too thick and the paper cracked and tore. So I printed the various elements directly onto the back of patterned paper which worked much better. And here's the result, using the three analogous colours light blue, dark blue and purple for this week's PDDC. It's a bit fiddly making the paper studs and it'll take an hour of your time just cutting up all the minute pieces but if you stick with it, you'll be the Belle of the ball at this year's festive parties lol.

why don't you try it with grunge paper Paul? I reckon that might work really well. 'You would have to ink it up a bit first though. More af than c&s.
