Back Home from Paris

What a fantastic time Nick & I had last week. Gorgeous, sunny weather, blue skies and the whole of Paris to explore. There were some items on our list of 'To Dos' that we didn't but we kept our plans flexible and squeezed as much as we could out of our time there. Oh yes & it also took only five minutes on arrival before the first guy tried to scam us with the "look I just found this ring" con. We just laughed and walked on.

Highlights included the Notre Dame towers, Oscar Wilde's grave, The Musee D'Orsay and a quaint olde worlde cafe in the Marais shopping district. Good job I don't live there mind, as the patisseries, of which there are a great many, are extremely tempting. So difficult to resist the mouth-watering window displays. We indulged in sweet, sugary cakes every day for breakfast, for lunch, after dinner and whenever sitting down for a breather in a cafe. I'd be the size of a house within a month. We don't have a photo of it but I dragged Nick into a very classy place in an upmarket district and saw a whole glaced fruit pineapple. An extraordinary thing to behold. It was deliciously tempting, glossy and oozing with syrup but it was also the type of shop where they didn't display prices (as in, if you have to ask, then you definitely can't afford it).

Same as last year, we walked our poor tired feet into exhaustion. Thankfully, this time I remembered to bring a peppermint spray, to soothe our trampled tootsies and keep us going for longer. Though sad when it was all over, the hot, soothing bath that awaited once we were home, was bliss.

And yes, I came home, once more, with a box of Macarons. Well, you didn't expect me to go all the way there and return empty handed now did you :) Flavours this time included carrot & orange, salted caramel, quince & rose and olive oil & mandarin. Yumsk!

so totally jealous of your trip. Oh and salted caramel is seriously yummy. Thanks for my post by the way-it arrived this morning. I had forgotten so it was a lovely surprise. (even though I did think 'what is it?' for a few secs before remembering.

How strange you got the ring scam again. Glad you are back but happy to know how much you enjoyed it.
Love your LO's and wondered what the "marked hand" was and then read all about it.
Hope to see you sooner than later.
