Over at the Shabby Tea Room, the challenge is to use a charm in a creative project, as well as taking inspiration from a photo of a bracelet. Well, my attempt was to outline an oval chipboard piece with buttons. Not sure I would have done this without the inspiration. Plus I saw my friend Julie use twine in her card on her blog and thought I'd have a go at stitching with it myself. Again, it didn't quite go as planned so I'm in two minds about it. However, I did learn from both. Firstly, buttons don't always add to a design, they need to be used carefully in order to successfully be incorporated. Secondly, when stitching with twine, I need to go in more from the edge.
Anyhoo, I also used the sketch from Mojo Monday (who are celebrating their 200th design) to make a birthday card and added a couple of charms tied in with the bow, as per the requirements for the challenges.
The papers I used are from Graphic 45, the flower is cut out from Hero Arts stamped images and the rest of the materials are from scraps in my files.
I've not opened it yet but I have a parcel just arrived and sitting on my desk, containing crafty goodies within. Hopefully, you'll see them used in the next upcoming posts. Until then , happy crafting. Pxx

And very lovely it is too, with such delicate colours. Such a great idea, to outline the oval with teeny buttons.

Very beautiful!
Your card have lovely designs and details Paul. A great job stitching with the twine...something I have yet to try. Thanks for the inspirations.
Hugs and Love.
Simply lovely...those shades of green and pink are so serene. The ribbon is a fabulous accent, the charm is perfect and the buttons are adorable, adorned with those sweet pearly flowers! I would find it very hard to sew with twine, it just seems to thick to make a delicate stitch, sometimes jute twine would work in that type of situation (although it can be a bit hairy, both literaly and figuratively! :)
Overall, the design turned out wonderfully and your shabby accents just get better and better!
