As Miranda's mother would say in the award winning sitcom "Such Fun". Which delightfully sums up the hour I have spent getting my shabby chic on. I grabbed my pinks, reds and neutrals from my stash, for the Shabby Tea Room challenge. I popped the album Rituals by White Lies onto my itunes player - the indie in me has never disappeared - and pieced together this feminine birthday card. And yes, I've even managed to ink the edge of the backing layer with subtlety. Took a little practice, but I'm finally seeing the results I was after. Just the merest hint of ageing. If only I could achieve the same result with what I see staring back at me each morning, in the mirror.
After a glut of birthdays and celebrations recently, I've finally come to a quiet weekend with very little planned. Good job too, as heavy rain is forecast. It'll be nice to potter around the house, catching up on all those little jobs which haven't been crossed off our to do lists lately. So whatever you're planning this weekend, I hope it goes with a bang. :) Enjoy. Pxx

Wowzers, Paul!! So many layers of vintage goodness, all those die cuts, patterns and textures...they blend perfectly on your perfectly pink card! That croched trim along the bottom edge is beautiful, as is your stitching around the perimeter and the gorgeous corner/border punching! There are so many lovely elements to this card...I could keep staring at it and find something new! You've certainly got your shabby groove on, and I can see a consistent refining of technique and talent (confidence, maybe?) with your lovely creations. I look forward to my visits here!
