What I tend to forget, when promising to upload onto my blog, is that once I'm well again, I have all those jobs to catch up on first which were neglected. Including the removal of cobwebs from the downstairs ceiling, which I'd been told were still there despite being pointed out to me the week before. Not that I minded this drunken grumble from my other half. If that's all there is to complain about, life can't be bad lol.
However, Wednesday evening was approaching and I still hadn't picked up a craft knife, ink pad or patterned paper. Deadlines for challenges were being missed as my craft desk remained clean and tidy. So I turned away from the TV and headed up to my craft room to begin playing. Mojo Monday has returned after a short break and the Shabby Tea Room had a wonderful challenge to go monochromatic.
I can't help but notice that my finished piece looks, well, not too dissimilar to the entry created by my favourite card maker, Andrea Ewan. It's not intentional but I'll cover myself here and say I CASE'd Andrea's beautiful project (and yes, finally I have discovered what CASE stands for - copy & share everything). In my defence, if subconsciously I'm copying someone, I'm happy it's from someone as talented as Andrea. Seriously, you should follow her blog. Not only does she produce the highest quality crafts but she does so at a prodigious rate. She puts most people, including myself, to shame. Plus she's a wife, mother and holds down a job. I, on the other hand, can't even manage to remove a spider's home within seven days lol.
Anyhoo, I used mostly My Minds Eye Lost & Found papers, distressing the edges and whizzing everything through a sewing machine. The flower is a bought creation from Prima (I know, shocking) and the butterfly was created with a Spellbinder's die cut paper shape, coated in Ranger's white distress crackle paint.
Hope you're all doing well out there & finding time to indulge in your creative cravings. I'm hoping to sneak some more time in my craft room before the weekend, crossing fingers. Pxx

Paul, let me start by saying what a gorgeous card! and yes, I follow Andrea, too. She is talented. But, so are you. I love your creative flare and talented eye when it comes to paper crafting! Beautiful work. And, if the cob webs at the stairs are the complaint, then count yourself lucky :) And I'm happy you have ventured into your craft room and are posting! LOVE your work! TFS

And I love monochrome! It's my favourite default colour scheme, especially if it involves pretty neutrals like this. Though in its colouring and delicacy, it has a lovely slightly cobweby feel ... :).

Ahh, I spotted your card right away in the Tea Room's gallery...a beautiful rendition of Mojo's sketch with just the perfect touch of vintage and chic!
And I am totally choked up by your very flattering tribute/CASE description...I am only so happy that you have been so wonderfully inspired...and my hope is that I can continue my {obsession} hobby for as long as I can! You may have cobwebs, but I've got laundry up to the ceiling! Lol!
