One Half Trade Card Tuesday

Truly I am hopeless. One simple instruction..., no scrap that, that's not where the problem lies. There were two simple instructions and really my poor brain can only cope with one.

The challenge asked us to create a card using this week's free image for Jodie Lee's Trade Card Tuesday challenge AND make it a Christmas theme.

Well at least I made a card with the cherubic fairy. I could have just made a random Christmas card instead. If I do something half right, at least I choose the wiser half.

That aside, I did manage to include Jodie's French Market digital papers. The sentiment is one I created and printed out. The lace bow was my first attempt at this tutorial and though it turned out okay, I think, with a little practise, it could improve. And yes, this time, some stitching made it's way onto there too.

The design is from the Deconstructed Sketch challenge, hence the need to incorporate such a big bow.

Right, well I'm off to have a warming bowl of porridge before descending on Manchester and it's markets. I hadn't planned on writing a post this morning but with limited daylight, the best time to take a photo is just as the sun rises and before it casts too harsh a shadow. Really, there's a 5 minute slot where it's perfect.

And finally, speaking of light. I bought a Daylight Bulb from Amazon which arrived & I fitted yesterday. The difference is amazing. My craft room is a joy to play in, once the sun goes down. It is wonderfully bright and playing around with coloured stash is much easier. Too often, I've made something under tungsten, only to wake up, view it in natural daylight & go yuck! Honestly, it's such a simple solution, I wonder why I didn't think of it before. :) Px

OK, so if that's half a brain, goodness knows how stunning it would be with the other half working too! Enjoy the markets, and the daylight too, whether natural or helped along a bit ...

You are functioning perfectly well on half a brain to be able to make such a perfect ATC. Make sure to tell me all about the market as I might just pay a visit.

Half right, has still resulted in a lovely card :)
Great idea re the daylight bulb. I used to have one years ago (back in the cross stitch days), but never got around to replacing it - off to Amazon now, to sort it out x

Well, I think that your bow looks amazing...lace doesn't always behave like you'd like it to but it seems as though you've tamed it...
Fabulous job on the Deconstructed sketch and I think that your angel theme is absolutely perfect for Christmas! The soft blues are wonderfully dreamy and those pearl flourishes are simply elegant! I'd call it "Full Trade Card Tuesday"! ...but that's just me... :)

He, he - you can always send it to someone as a 'different' C card - it would certainly be unique, lol? Love it, anyway, Paul - it's beautiful and the image is lovely x

You know, I'm just going to change the challenge - just for you - to 'just make something with it' :) ... because this is just too darn gorgeous to exclude!!

You are so talented Paul!!!

This is absolutely adorable.

THANK YOU!!

The day light lamp sounds great too. I've heard so much about them.

HOWEVER ... I have a feeling your designs would turn out perfect, even if you did them in the dark Paul!

Sorry to post here, Paul but I'm using my laptop and don't have your email address here.

'BTW, the Manchester markets sell Gaperon!!! But they are quite pricey. Two minis (ie size of a golf ball) for £5. Didn't stop me treating myself though haha.'

Thanks for this - Cathy and I ate one in an afternoon when I was there this year - délicieux and definitely decadent, lol - that alone may tempt me to go, he, he! Hope the market was worth a visit cos I just may have to go across now. Fancy putting such temptation my way, lol. Thanks x
