Linen Tag with UTEE Embellishment No. 2

Remember the white UTEE-coated dressform from this tag? I said that I'd already made one which followed Drew's tutorial instructions more or less exactly, before I'd started mucking around reinterpreting it. Well I've gone ahead and made a tag which incorporates it. Partly because I wanted to try out another idea where a scrap of card is wrapped with wool.

Shaped card was tricky, so I cut a rectangle just to try it out. The tag I covered in linen and then tattered the edges. I knocked out a quick shabby flower, with fabric scraps. I'm really impressed with how delightfully frayed the edges go when you scrunch them up.

It just remained for me to find a piece of serendipitous wording in an old book and once again it didn't fail me. I'm always happily surprised by how well this random method works.

And there you have it, a relatively simple design. I didn't overload it this time. And I have to say, it's one of my favourite tags to date. The photo does not do justice as to just how tactile the piece is. The linen & wool combo is now a new fave of mine.

As for the next techniques to play around with, I've just bought a pot of Ranger's "glue & seal" after watching Lyndsay Mason demo with it. If I could but only remember how she used it.
