Discovering New Paths & Influences

I know that they're a rarity from me these days, but I've made another scrapbook page. I'm still in tag-making mode but I have a reason for scrapping. Recently, I've made some new online friends and through them, I'm discovering new paths and influences.

Two of them, Kory & Frank, are behind the frenzied hours I spent putting together a layout. Sorry, strike that. My mistake, four. I forgot Andy & Jim.

The sketch design I used is Kory's (here). It's a scrapbook layout because I wanted something to upload to the Flying Unicorn's, a virtual world which Frank has introduced us all to. Jim is responsible for the wax resist technique. Remember the tag from the tutorial I did last week (here)? I chopped it up and incorporated it into this layout.

Andy's influence is found in the chipboard heart embellishment. It's another technique I've picked up from his timeworn techniques workshop. All I'll reveal is that masking tape was involved. Isn't this one heck of a groovy technique? Plus it was incredibly easy to create. I can see it's going to transform quite a bit of that old chipboard that's been hanging around my stash collection.

As for the subject matter, well neither Nick or I have been taking many photos of recent. However, on browsing through Nick's folder for inspiration, I noticed he has several new shots of our large tabby, Basil. Ever since he adopted us, he has seen me as a substitute for his sleeping arrangements (I'd hate for you to think that we spoil him but he does have three proper cat beds & a fleece blanket) . I've learnt to do the crossword or read a book, with only one arm, as the other normally has a feline nuisance asleep on it. He only gets away with it cos he's just very good at being cute.

Well, the weekend's nearly here and I have nothing planned for once. Perhaps I'll find the time to craft & draw. Or will I just fritter the hours away catching up on the backlog of movies I've stacked up in the "to be watched" pile. Or maybe, for once, I'll do both in moderation.

Have a wonderful, creative day

Paul xx

I love how you've used this technique in your LO & Basil is one Handsome moggy-monster!! LOL at you becoming a one-handed master...I've mastered that skill too, with my feline muse, Pikachu!!

Wow, this is a stunner! ~Both The Moggie and your page ... I winced about about the cut-up tag, but it clearly looks wonderfully confortable in its new abode. A bit like Basil!

~We have a spoiled kitty in our midst too...every morning she's poised atop my husband's shoulders as he works on the computer...I ask, "Doesn't your neck hurt?" Well, yes it does...but don't dare move the cat! Haha...
