EDM Challenge 4 - An Update

Okay, sorry, but I couldn't do it. I couldn't just do a bad sketch and leave it at that. The instant I pressed the "publish" button on here, I turned a funny grey colour and a panicky feeling came over me.

I grabbed my art supplies again, opened up my sketchpad at the next page and went for a second attempt.

Not perfect (they never will be in my eyes) but a heck of a lot better than the last attempt. I can now mop my fevered brow and my panic-stricken heart can stop racing away trying to beat it's way out of my chest.

Looks as if I still have to work on my creative insecurities haha.

Aw, you spoiled it - I was chuffed to see the one you weren't pleased with! Just Googled the mug and it's a really difficult shape to sketch, so well done you, ever the perfectionist!

I liked the first one the most, Paul! For real! The first one had a kind of movement and liveliness to it that worked best with the shape of the mug. Stop second guessing yourself!

Well, hey, I liked the first one too! It seems quirkier, somehow and I like quirky. :) But kudos to you for spending the time on trying to improve!

everyone I know can 'see' errors when they look at their sketches on screen rather than on the page - it is a really good tool to improving observation & drawing skills, the panic is because you fear what others may say - tell that panic to shut up, this is a very balanced proportionate drawing - Keep calm - and carry on DRAWING

( maybe see you at Vikkis stampers at the w/e?) bring your sketch book?

I think that you do what you believe is right - if it feels 'wrong' to you, then go again - if that isn't as good as the first to you then you've achieved loads by doing it twice! My favourite? For what it's worth, I like the second one best because I wonder what story could be woven around this image should you wish to go one step further. . . . hope that makes sense to you!!
