Crackle Paint & Butterflies

Good morning. Well, I've been busy in my spare time sorting 16 years worth of holiday albums and photos starting right back at the beginning, so I haven't been sat, playing & crafting as much. More staring at computer screens and photos. It's one of those large projects that could overwhelm if not done in small bite sized chunks.

Anyway, last night I took a break and made a birthday card.

Well, in truth, I suppose I could say I began this the night before, when I dabbled with Ranger's Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint. I had a sheet of chippies from Woodware and chose one of the square frames to experiment with. I simply covered it with the gloopy paint and left it to set overnight.

When I eventually sat down to play last night, it was merely a case of trimming card out and making an arrangement in which I could use the crackled frame. Hence the butterfly, from a Martha Stewart punch, which fit perfectly inside.

Materials Used
- Card: Dark navy Blue, Royal Blue, White, Grey
- Cream Patterned Paper - a scrap (not sure which collection it's from)
- Chipboard Frame: Woodware Chippies Frames
- Rangers Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint
- Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch
- Pearl embellishments
- Circles Die: Memory Box
- Label Die: W plus 9
- Sentiment Stamp: Papertrey Ink

Fab card! I love the circle die and the crackled frame has worked really well - I never seen to have much luck with 'crackling' x

Lovely hues, Paul. Here is another who never seems to be able to get a nicely crackled surface!

Love it.

Love the crackle paint, just bought me crackle stuff and have not ventured there yet, thanks for the push to see how it looks, and getting that idea to use it back in my mind.
