For instance, I've just booked a murder mystery dinner. Never been on one and really looking forward to it.
Clean, for today at least, can come in the design of the card I made last night for the CAS(e) this Sketch Challenge.
I stamped the feathers with a freebie, again from Craft Stamper magazine. Well I do have a box full of their designs and I think it's also the only feather stamp I possess.
I cut them both out, applied to the card, stamped a Hero Arts sentiment, then added a button. And though I'm a follower of the Less is More camp, I did feel it needed just a little something extra. That's when I saw the two strips of card lying on my table, near the guillotine, where I had been trimming one of the edges.
So on they went and I breathed a happy sigh. One of my favourites quotes about design teaches that it's a process of taking all unnecessary elements away. When nothing more can be removed, it's perfect. And I think, for this card, I managed it.

Another great card. I am very much the "less is more" type of card maker. Especially since I tend to make a whole bunch of the same card when I am making them. I love some of the hyper-embellished Tim Holtz style tags I see people make, but my first thought is always, "wow, that was a lot of work for one piece." LOL
Oh, a question for you. When you say the stamps were freebies from the magazine, are you saying they give you a free physical rubber stamp with the issue?
Anyway, lovely cards. Keep up the good work,
Tony
Thanks Tony :) Yes, the magazine comes with a small stamp attached to each issue. I've hardly ever used them, until now that is lol. Px
Indeed you have! Subtraction is one of my favourite things :)
Very cool card like the feather design.
Wonderful card, Paul! I love your take on the sketch!
I liked what you wrote about not being able to take anything else away from the design.... that's a good thing to keep in mind.
Hi Paul, what a stylish card, I love the color choices and the graphic design. This would be perfect for our challenge at STAMPlorations, here's the link if you want to join: http://stamplorations.blogspot.fi/2014/01/january-challenge-stamps-feathers.html
Love using stash and (especially) freebies in my work! You have done so beautifully here, Paul! Love the stamp! Mwah!
Yeah I agree, the strips of card at the bottom work really well. Good to see you back for the New Year!
Loving the colours you have used. This could have been made to look either feminine or masculine and you have now given me an idea for a card I want to make and leave over here. Thanks Paul.
Shari sends her love and says it is too long since she last saw you. I have a photo to send to you, but I rather spoil the overall effect.
Love you
Neet xx
Clean, crisp and fabulously CAS. Love the strips on the bottom! Thanks for playing along with CAS(E) This Sketch this week!
This is absolutely gorgeous, Paul! The little strips of cardstock are just perfect. I will fully admit to not being a fan of the feather trend but your card makes me wanna change my tune. LOVE IT!
