Dodecagon Box

The talented Neet asked me what books I've been using for the different shaped boxes I've been playing around with making. And I thought it'd be kinda dull if I just posted the details on their own. So I picked out another box to try out. This time a Dodecagon carton.

I printed out the design onto A4 card, flipped it over and adhered Anna Griffin Darcy Collection Pattern Paper to the reverse. I then cut the box out, glued it together and I could have left it there. The shape looks interesting enough on it's own.

But I couldn't resist adding some decorations to the top. I took three more Darcy papers and made three paper roses a la Wendy Vecchi. I threw in some feathers and bits n bobs from my stash to add texture and there we have it.

This particular box came from the book The Packaging & Design Templates Sourcebook.

The other two books I have are Structural Package Designs and Big Book of Boxes. All of them can be found at my favourite design shop, Magma. We have a store in Manchester and I believe there's one in London too. All three books come with CDs with the templates on them.
