The Box, the Butterfly & the Bling

I haven't made a box in a while, so I thought I'd use this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge as an excuse.

This week there's a sumptuous split complementary combo of lime green with its opposite hues of purple and lilac. The beauty of complimentary schemes is that the colours contrast against each other and really stand out. That's why the green embellishments on this box really pop out from the purple.

The flowers and border are made from Martha Stewart punches, the rainbow butterfly is from Caroline's Rubber Stamps (coloured with Promarkers and embossed with holographic powder) and the bling is Prima.

Now all I need to do is fill the box with chocolates (if i can resist the temptation to eat them first).

That's lovely, Paul - love the paper and it all works really well. Haven't made a box in ages - really need to stop making cards, cards, cards, although I never have enough! One of my favourite colour combos, so I'll be doing this one.

That is so gorgeous... love the colour combo and it is beautifully made. I wouldn't bother putting the chocs in there... you'll only have to open it up again to eat them and the colour of chocolate doesn't harmonise at all.
