Throwing in a Little Bit of Everything

I've turned my back on my love of minimalism this week and thrown a bit of everything into this card. There's plain paper, patterned paper, card, thread, fabric, some ribbon, a brad, chipboard plus I've incorporated stamping, spellbinders dies and a MS border punch. And let's not forget the adhesive; sticky dots, a glue dot, spray adhesive and 3D foam. All that in one card that's roughly the size of my hand.

So what's inspired me? Well yes, you've guessed it, it's Thursday so it must be the Play Date Cafe challenge. And you know what, it may include pink this time around but I love it. Red, pink & white. Very summery, very strawberries & cream which is very Wimbledon. There's a good contrast between the colours which makes it easy to distinguish them from each other.

I must also say a big thank you to Stephanie for sharing her tips for sewing onto cards with me. As you can tell by my rough hand stitching here, I still haven't brushed the dust off my machine yet but the moment I find the time to practice, I assure you I'll be having a play.

Right I must sign off and head off into town. I'm going to be joining in with a crafty group at the weekend and getting myself covered in gesso and glue as I attempt to decorate something in deco-patch tissue. But first, I need an object to alter and where better to search than a local charity shop. If I remember, I'll photograph the finished item (whatever it may be) and pop on here.
