Before The Garden Beckons

I'm up bright and early this morning. Probably because it's glorious weather outside. It may be a bit chill but boy is the light bright. Who wants to sleep???

So before it warms up and I go outdoors to potter around in the garden, I'm spending the time wisely writing up my blog post now.

It's another card, surprise, surprise and it's my take on this week's Play Date Cafe challenge. It's a gorgeous analogous combo of green and blue. However, I've tweaked it a tad and not followed it to the hue. The blues were a smidgen too bright for the yesteryear feel that I'm recently playing around with. But I did use two shades of it. So it's a creative tweak.

One of the joys of playing around with the vintage look, is that I can incorporate more materials into the design. So as well as patterned paper, I've included a fabric mat layer plus flower, a button, chipboard, lace, ruffled ribbon, chipboard, corrugated card, UTEE, punched shapes and eyelets. The sentiment & pattern were both generated on Adobe Illustrator and printed out. It's so rewarding to play with a style that allows me to build up multiple layers in it's construction.

Okay, just a little time for scrapping a quick layout, then it's out into the garden with the Sunday Papers. Don't you just love weekends :)

I like your tweaks, Paul. The card has a more vintage feel this way. Glad you made time to play with us before going out to play in your garden! THanks for joining us at The Cafe.

Luscious! How did you do that flower? Looks almost padded/quilted ...One of my favourite colour combinations.

I do love this colour combo - (also substituting purple/Magenta for the blue) and found I was drawn to your card straight away. Love how you have put your elements together.
