A Rose by Any Other Name

Today, or rather, this afternoon, there is a wonderful sigh of relief being breathed in our household. We've been having quite a saga with bad mattresses leading to poorly backs and nights with less than perfect hours given over to blissful sleep. We've hunted high and low for a replacement and come away disappointed. However, today, we walked into a local shop we hadn't even thought about before and were so impressed by the service and sales, we not only have come away having bought a new mattress but a whole new bed too. It'll take a couple of weeks to be made to order and delivered but finally, we can look forward to a pain-free slumber.

All that's by the by and nothing to do with the card I've made, suffice to say that this has been the first opportunity I've had to actually photograph and blog the above submission to not just one but two challenges.

The first is Mojo Monday, who's sketch I used and the second is the Shabby Tearoom whose colours and theme I followed i.e. pinks and greens teamed with flowers.

It feels like the two challenges have delightfully complemented each other this week. Plus, after a brief break from crafting, it was great fun to spend a couple of hours stamping, punching and sewing again. As usual, the majority of the time was spent on making the flowers - all that shaping and gluing. Time-wise the rest was pretty straight forward. I could have used bought flowers I know but I didn't have anything in quite the right colour, so gave in and made my own from some perfectly pink card in my stash.

Well thank you, my dear readers, for once again popping by. Hope you've had a lovely day wherever you are. For now, I'm going to settle in front of the TV and indulge in some guilt-free sloth for an hour (or possibly two) :) xx

Your card is just lovely. It has such a nice romantic, vintage feel. I also used the same two challenges this week.

Love those flowers, Paul...you are quite the resourceful crafter! Great job with the Mojo sketch and your Tea Room palette is perfect! I'm also diggin' that hint of vintage sweetness with the texted lacey circle and the distressed/sewed edges. Awesome, my friend! (And just wait until you get some restful slumber...you're going to be churning out the card goodness for sure!)

What a beautiful card! A really lovely image complimented by lace, pearls, pretty papers, ribbon and your special roses.
So glad to hear you have got a new bed - just hope you have more luck with this one than the last one. At the price these are there should be no chance of bad backs through beds.

The roses are so delicate and pretty ... admiring your skill. And delighted to hear that the bed problem is soon to be resolved, and that soft refreshing sleep is on its way.:)
