Getting Back on the Horse

It's been a few weeks now since I actually made a card. Or anything for that matter of fact. I came to the decision that I would relax and take a creative break over the holidays. However, I did spend the time reading through my library of arty, crafty books and magazines. And I made a good start on tidying my crafting area. Which means I've refuelled my mojo and now the itch to make something is harder to ignore.

So to keep my first card of the year simple, I opted to use a sketch from Mojo Monday & colours from the Play Date Cafe Challenge.

Not quite as shabby as I'd prefer but it's a good start. Once I'm in the swing of things again, I'll be bringing out the sewing machine and cutting up strips of lace. But for now, I've kept this fairly clean and simple.

The flower is another handmade one, where I took a thin strip of fabric, folded it in half along the length before make even snips into the folded edge. I rolled the strip into a coil, applied glue and it was good to go.

Hope everyone out there is easing into their own wonderful creative stride this week too.

Paul x

Happy New Year to you, too, Paul! So glad to see you back in the creative swing...I've definitely missed dropping by to see some shabby works of art! :) This card is beautiful and I can see that you were especially inspired by our colors, being that your entry is on the top row! Haha! Thanks for the instruction on the flower...I certainly must try this method...the flower looks so soft and delicate.
I'm also looking forward to your New52 projects...what a wonderful growth experience for you...to set out to try new things on a daily basis is both exciting and a little scary...both so worth it!

& P.S. I found some more new {{cool}} dies...you may want to tuck a wee more ££ in your pocket soon ;)

Such a pretty, misty colour combination in this card...I will have to try that technique for a ribbon flower, it's a lovely effect! TFS! :)
