Taking Time Out For Tea

The sunny days and hot weather are behind us now and a long bank holiday, with quintessentially English rain, is forecast. However, whilst the weather was clement enough to sit outdoors, I took to keeping a constantly refilled pot of tea on the garden table whilst I read, drew or listened to a play on my ipod. I love the calm ritual of sipping hot Earl Grey in the garden whilst the sun beams down.

So, with Jubilee celebrations just around the corner, it's no wonder I serendipitously selected tea-themed stamps from Papertrey Ink when deciding to make a card.

I also kept life simple for myself by using just one collection of My Mind's Eye Lost & Found papers. Then, as normal, I assembled the usual suspects of buttons, lace, pearls and butterflies into the design. The sprinkling of flowers are courtesy of a Martha Stewart punch and hopefully add to the English Garden tea idea I had in my head.

Well, a long bank holiday weekend awaits. We've nothing planned here. I think Nick would like to see the flotilla on the Thames on Sunday, so I've set it to tape from the TV. My guess is we'll watch it on fast forward, after the event.

So whatever your plans, especially if your street is holding a big-lunch party, have a wonderful time.

Soothing and delish...both your card and the tea! The lace/twine accent is a beautiful addition to the cool colors, carefree butterflies and the wisps of hydrangea petals. Gorgeous as always...enjoy your extended weekend!

Ohhhh I love it- especially the colors. I would like to say I'd like to be like you when I grow up, too, just like Frank. But the problem is that I am grown up and a lost cause! lol

I've been so busy the past few weeks, I've been missing everything! I'm back, now! And glad I am, so I could see your card!!! I love the teapot!!!
